What is the origin of the "Vitamin" name?
When the design system was launched, several names were put to the vote and "Vitamin" won with more than 50% of the votes. This name was quickly adopted by the communities of designers and developers at Decathlon and even today, the design system is growing and is no longer just digital, this name remains.
"Vitamin" means energy and health which are the DNA of Decathlon. A vitamin is also an organic molecule that is an essential micronutrient that an organism needs for the proper functioning of its metabolism. This name was inspired by the atomic design methodology, and its metaphor of atoms, molecules, and organisms.
